Retirement Series Part 4 - Shell Congratulations Card

Here's the last part of this series. Here is the card that I made to actually give to the retiree. :) I made it to sort of match the note cards that I made and the packaging. They have the same shapes, the same embossing design, the same stamps, the same colors. The only thing different about this is that I added some white dots, which I may add to the packaging. :) I hope you have enjoyed this series on gifts. Retirement Series Part 3 - Shell Thank You Note Card Envelopes Packaging

This is the 3rd post in my shell gift series. Yesterday I posted the packaging for the note cards which was a difficult job because they were so thick. Then I got the light bulb over my head. I decided to package the envelopes separately. I just included a note in each package. The one with the actual notes says 'Envelopes in separate package' and the one in the envelope package says 'Envelopes for thank you notes'. I used almost the exact same packaging. I just flipped some colors around. ;)

This post was a day late because I didn't get it done yesterday. But I will post twice today, just to make up. :) Don't forget to enter the giveaway on the Facebook page!! ~Emma

Retirement Series Part 2 - Shell Thank You Note Card Gift Packaging

Hello everyone! Welcome to KatelynCo! If you remember from yesterday's post, I posted a set of thank you note cards that I will be giving for a retirement gift. Today I am going to show you how I packaged those up.

I used the same color scheme that I used for the cards so that it would tie everything together. I used the same cut and everything. For the blue strip, I Cuttlebugged it using D'vine Swirls. I also used Pink by Design's stamps again. :) I really love those. :D

Here's a little closer look at my stamping/Cuttlebug/die cutting job.

I did run into one little problem. The cards with envelopes were too thick to fit into the bag. I would get them all in, but then I couldn't staple it like I usually do (check out this video to see how I put these together). My solution? Take out the envelopes and package them separately. See that post tomorrow. :) I still had trouble though, so I put a strip of ATG tape inside the bag to hold it together temporarily.

Retirement Series Part 1 - Shell Thank You Note Cards

Sorry this post is so late! I went on a fun field trip with my family today, so I got home rather late and forgot about posting until now. But it's up now!! :D

I made these fun note cards using my Gypsy (Gypsy Wanderings for the square shape) and the shell was from Life's a Beach. I made these fun 4x4 inch note cards for a retirement gift. Since you get a lot of gifts when you are retiring, I thought that someone who's retiring will need a lot of thank you notes, why not make them special. :) I will be packaging them up in a gift package tomorrow. So make sure and come back!

Vintage Valentine Video!!

Hello everyone! Welcome back to KatelynCo! Today I am making a Cricut-less (shocking, right??) for the Krafty Valentine's challenge on Timeless Twine's blog.

After I had finished the video, I realized that I had missed a part of the challenge. I had missed the scallop part. So I quickly took some scallop scissors, and cut the right edge of the card. I wished I had a punch that would have done a better job, but oh well! :)

Simple yet Elegant Wedding Card

Hello everyone!! Today, I wanted to share a wedding card that I made. It was so simple to make. I used silver glitter paper from Die Cuts with a View Glitter Stack. The patterned paper is just white paper stamped repeatedly with silver ink. The rings were just cut in gray paper and I used a burgundy (to match the base) marker to color the ribbon. I also used glitter glue to make the diamond stand out. I can't remember where I got the sentiment stamp. :) I hope you all have a great day and I hope to have inspired you today!! ~Emma

Colorful Hawaiian Card

Hello everyone!! Welcome back to KatelynCo!! :) Today I wanted to share a card that is perfect for mailing to those people that are not winter people and go to warm, exotic places to spend those 3 cold months. :D I actually had a ton of fun with this card. I was inspired by this card from Robyn (aka My Pink Stamper). It turned out to be quite a bit more tweaked than it originally was going to be. I used George and Basic Shapes to cut the pretty pink flower. The Cuttlebug folder is Seeing Spots. And the stamp is from (you guessed it) Pink By Design's Vintage Greetings. Birthday Note Card Set

Hello everyone!! Thanks for joining us this lovely Tuesday. :) Today I made this note card set. I used my Razzel (by Mr. Cricut Crazy) for all of the cards (this pack has a doggie theme). For the cards, I used three cards that I have posted already (here, here, and here). I had already mailed the purple with flowers doggie card in one of the posts, So I made a look alike to bring the number of cards in the pack to an even four. For the topper, I used different cardstocks that I had. They are cut slightly unevenly for a slight touch of fun. The 'Birthday Wishes' is from Pink By Designs Vintage Greetings. The flower was cut from George and Basic Shapes. The twine is Honeydew and Peapod from the Twinery. I hope you enjoyed this project and I hope you have a great day!! ~Emma

'Welcome Little One' Popcorn/Favor Box

Yesterday on my Facebook Page, I shared this sneak peek of what was to come today. Well, are you ready to see???? :)
I made this adorable little popcorn box to be used as a favor/candy/anything else you can think of (LOL!!) box. I am spotlighting in this project Pink By Design Stamps, Glitter Paper from Die Cuts with a View, and twine in the colors Blossom and Caribbean from The Twinery.
I cut it at 5.5" from Tags, Bags, Boxes, & More Cricut cartridge. cut the white circle at 1.75" from George and Basic Shapes and inked it with pink ink. I then stamped my sentiment in brown ink. I used 2 scalloped circles from Mini Monograms (cut at 2"). I adhered one flat on the box, the other is pop-dotted above it.
For the twine, I just used both colors and tied a little bow. :) Super simple!! I tried to keep this project so that it could be used for either gender. You could also switch the colors for a different look.

Do you notice anything different on my photos? That's right!! I purchased a watermark!! I love how subtle it is, yet it marks the picture as truly mine. :) I purchased it from DPNDSUDIO on Etsy. Here is the listing for the water mark that I purchased. I am extremely happy with it!

Pink By Design Sympathy Card

Hello everyone!! If you remember a while back, I created a card for a request that I had gotten. Well, I am entering to be on the Pink By Design Design Team. So, I used Pink By Design's Vintage Greetings set to create this card. The shell is from Life's a Beach Cricut Cartridge. The paper is from Boho Chic stack by Hobby Lobby.

Guest Designing Post!!

Hello everyone! This is Emma from www.katelynco.blogspot.com, and today I have the opportunity to guest design for the amazing Tanner of www.mrcricutcrazy.com.

I made this card using his Razzel (super fun!) stamp set. I had a blast making this card because the little dogs on this stamp set are way fun to color! :) To get the inked and colored dog, I stamped the dog on white paper and on scrap paper. I then colored the one on white paper. I cut out the scrap paper one and attached it (temporarily) on top of the colored one. I inked around it with blue ink for the look seen in the picture. :) Fun, fun!! I Cuttlebugged (:D) the green layer with D'vine swirls folder. The twine is the Blossom color from The Twinery.

Non-Traditional Colors Valentine

Hello everyone!! Soooo... How do you all like the new blog design? A new look for a new year!! :)

Sorry that I haven't been posting regularly yet. I was kind of taking a Christmas/New Years break. :) But I'm back today with a Valentine with rather non-traditional colors. I got both the stamp and the mailbox from Create-a-Critter. The mail-box is white sponged with silver ink. The stamp does not come with a checked background. I created that myself. :)

Tomorrow I will be back with a project for sure as I am guest designing. I can't tell you who for just yet. :) I will tell you though that I have to quit typing and get to work on my project. :D Yes, it looks like I am a procrastinator. :D ~Emma

'I Love You' Valentine! 100th Post!!!!

Hello everyone!! Can you believe that this is my 100th post on this blog? I sure can't. :) Today I am participating in a challenge from the Trendy Twine blog. The challenge is to create something Valentine's Day-ish (LOL!! :D) project using Trendy Twine or embroidery floss. Since I don't own any Trendy Twine I used white embroidery floss. The cut is from Celebrate With Flourish Cricut Lite Cartridge. The sentiment is from Pink By Design's Vintage Greetings stamp set. The paper is from All Occasions II stack from Hobby Lobby. Christmas Wishes

Last Christmas I received a new camera. It's a typical point and shoot camera. I didn't really try doing artistic shoots with it until about a week ago. Until then, I thought that I needed an SLR professional camera to get really great artistic shots. I was inspired by my friend that I met not 6 months ago. Being a very avid photographer, she inspired me to try new things with my camera. Thanks, Abby. :) Since then, I have been trying different things with my camera. Here is a Christmas shot that I took of a wrapped present under the tree. I like this picture because it shares the spirit of Christmas with the lights and the spirit of giving. :) This Christmas, I am thankful that I have learned contentment with cameras and other things. :) And I know that I will be using my camera this Christmas at family events. So, from my family to yours a VERY Merry Christmas. :D ~Emma

12th Day of Christmas - Christmas Thank You Card

Merry Christmas everyone!! Welcome to the 12th and final day of Christmas. I created this very simple Christmas thank you card for use after all the gift exchanging is done. It seems I am using candy canes and marquees a lot this year. :) I Cuttlebugged this simple card using the Seeing Spots folder. The 'with' and 'appreciation' stamps are from Joy's Life.com's Everyday Occasions stamp set. The 'Christmas' stamp came from Micheal's. I used a white gel pen to doodle on the edges and inked the embossing with red ink. I made this card in a hurry, so you can see little flaws, but if I had wanted it perfect, I would have bought it at the store, right? :) Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! ~Emma

I cut the chimney out twice at 6.5inches. I only layered the front part of the chimney.

I glued only the corners of otherchimney. I then glued both together to make an envelope to stick Santa in.

The Santa card I cut at 6 inches. Iused a brad to hold card together. The inside of the card I will be writing mysentiments.

The 10th Day of Christmas - Our Christmas Time Traditions Layout

Welcome to the 10th Day of Christmas!! I can't believe that it is Christmas Eve Eve already! :D LOL!! I made this Christmas layout using a bunch of different products. I used Storybook cut the Marquee cut and Christmas Cheer for the candy cane. The sticker words are from Doodlebug design. The pattern paper is from the All Seasons II stack from Hobby Lobby's Paper Studio. This is going to hold one of my family's Christmas card pictures that we do every year. One thing that I love about this layout is that it mixes traditional and non-traditional together. 9th Day of Christmas - Guest Designer - Sandra!

Hey everyone, Sandra from Be Hoppy Scrapping here. I am very excited to be doing guest designing for KatelynCo (http://www.katelynco.blogspot.com), as her blog and work are stellar! I have been immersing myself in Christmas crafts the past few weeks because, for me, it is the best way to get in the Christmas spirit. I have completed quite a few crafts, but there were still a couple on my to-do list, so I decided to complete one of those projects for this designing; a set of Christmas ornaments!

Supply list: Old/scratched CDs or DVDs, patterned paper (I used the Bo Bunny 6x6 Blitzen paper stack), scissors or xacto knife, adhesive of your choice (I used my ATG), ribbon/twine/etc., embellishments (I used the Bo Bunny Blitzen metal embellishments), Crop-A-Dile, ink, & sandpaper (both optional)

These ornaments turn out very nice and I love them because they are so super easy to make. The first step is to apply adhesive to one side of the CD. Then, you simply take your chosen piece of paper/cardstock and adhere it onto the CD. Then, turn the CD over and using an Xacto knife (or holding the CD and using scissors), trim the paper. It should lay flush against the CD. This isn’t easy to get perfect, so having sandpaper or a sanding block comes in very handy to get the edges of the paper smooth and against the CD.

The next step is optional, and that is to do the same thing on the back of the CD. I used a plain brown cardstock for the backs of mine. You can use a plain cardstock, or more patterned paper for this, or simply leave it as is. When finished, you can ink the edges if you like. Afterwards, embellish your new ornament! I used the metal Bo Bunny embellishments and ran twine through them then glued the twine to the back of the CD using hot glue. Any embellishments that match your paper will work. Finally, use your Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole in the top of the CD and tie some ribbon, twine, etc through for hanging.

I hope you enjoyed the Christmas ornament project. If you make them, I would love to see pictures!

The 8th Day of Christmas - Envelope Mini Album

Hello everyone! Sorry this post is late. I was trying to get this album done in time to share yesterday, but it wasn't quite quick enough. So today, you get 2 days in one. :) I am making three of these mini albums for the grandparents in my families. I covered all of the envelopes with the pattern paper. After making the covers with cardboard covered with paper, I took it too Office Depot to get it bound. Then the fun part - DECORATING!!! LOL! For the cover, I used Once Upon a Princess for the word 'Grandkids' and Storybook for the year.

For this page, I used Boys will be Boys for the basketball hoop. And I used Blackletter for the first time ever! I used it for the name and for the 's' on the hoop. The 's' stands for 'Spartans'. :)

This page is one of my favorites. I used Indie Art for the heart. The name is cut from Storybook. Because the top layer ripped slightly, I added silver glitter (not Stickles :D) to cover that. :)

This is my page. :) Isn't it cute. I cut the bow from Once Upon a Princess. Since I used gray for the dots, I decided to add glitter to make it look like silver. My name is cut from All Mixed Up.

This page is for an army obsessed boy. :) The tank is cut from Boys Will be Boys. The name is from the Designer's Calendar font.

This last page is also one of my favorites. I cut the butterfly from Create-a-Critter. The name is from Printing Press. I had to make sure there was room for the bird. :D

This book acts as a scrapbook, but it also acts as a photo album. What grandparents don't have tons of pictures of their grandkids, especially those little wallets. :) The envelope part of this book is to store those for each person named. The 7th Day of Christmas - Gift Idea! Note Cards

Welcome to the 7th day of Christmas! Yesterday I shared a video of how to seal gifts in a bag. Today, I'm showing you what cards look like sealed.

I made these cards for a gift exchange I was in. I cut the hearts from George and Basic Shapes Cricut Cartridge. The patterned paper is from the Boho Chic stack. The pink cardstock is embossed in the Cuttlebug using the Polka Dot folder.

I sealed all 4 cards in the bag and topped it with basically the same design, just flipped. I hope you've enjoyed this day of Christmas and come back tomorrow for more! ~Emma

The 4th Day of Christmas

Hello everyone! Today, I am so excited to be guest designing for Karey of www.creativecraftcorner.com. Today is the 4^th day of Christmas out of 12. I made a handmade gift bag for Christmas that is so simple to do. All you need is patterned paper, cardstock, a brown lunch sack, and adhesive. So easy!

I used Christmas Cheer to cut the snowflake. The sentiment is from a Christmas collage sentiment paper. The torn pink paper is supposed to resemble non-traditional snow. After I decorated the bag, I put my gift in and tied it closed with ribbon. I used a single hole punch to punch two holes in the bag and then tie it with ribbon. This is perfect if you are running low on gift bags. I always have gift bags, so I don’t know why I chose to make this project.

3x3 Christmas Cards For Day 3 of the 12 days of Christmas!!

Hello everyone! Welcome to the 3rd day of Christmas! Today I made 3x3 cards that are great for giving to your friends when a full size card will take too long. These are simple and quick to make. For the stocking and 'hohoho' card, I used Christmas Cheer to cut the decorations. The Christmas stamp card is a rubber stamp that I just cut around with pinking scissors. Also, there will be a giveaway on the Facebook page soon. I will announce it on here as well, so keep your eyes peeled. ;) ~Emma

2nd day of Christmas

Hello everyone! Today I am participating in My Pink Stamper's Challenge while giving you Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas. This challenge was to use a non - Christmas cartridge to create something Christmas-y. :) So here's what I came up with:

I used Designer's Calendar for the music notes. For the double note I used my Gypsy to weld them together. I went a little crazy with the ink. :) LOL! The snowflakes are from Christmas/Noel cartridge. I tried to do snowflakes from the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge, but those kept ripping. The sentiment is computer generated. You can hardly tell from the picture, but the snowflakes are glittery. :) Come back tomorrow for Day 3. :) ~Emma

Hello everyone!! Welcome to the 1st day of Christmas in my 12 Days of Christmas event! ;) Today I am going to show you the gift tag design that I am going to use this year. I used a top-note shape that you can get from quite a few cartridges. I got mine from Gypsy Wanderings. The candy cane is from Christmas Cheer. I planned this out on my Gypsy to save paper. For the sentiment, I used a $1 stamp set from Michael's. Here is the tag design that I used last year:

Handmade Gift Ideas

Hello Everyone! I wanted to share 3 past projects that I have created. I wanted to share the 2 kinds of ornaments that I have created as well as a decorated frame.

I created this frame by decoupaging pattern paper scraps onto a plain frame. I cut the letters on this frame from Plantin Schoolbook Cricut Cartridge. This is perfect for grandparents who have tons of pictures of grandkids. :)

This ornament is my favorite. I was inspired by this video from YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Nq3JoFfoP8&feature=player_embedded. Instead of Glitter It though, I used Mod Podge. I also used plain cardstock instead of vinyl to add the letter.
This is perfect for the girly girl in your life. :)

This last ornament is perfect for kids. I used my Cricut markers to draw the letters on the fabric. I made about 17 of these, so I used my Gypsy to arrange them to take up the least amount of room. I drew them out and cut them with scissors. They don't really fray, because I ironed interfacing on the back. This also helps with keeping it in place while you're drawing with your Cricut.

Flower 'Get Well' Card and Christmas Announcement!!

I usually take Sundays off, but I found this card that I wanted to share with ya'll. ;) I used a redundant stamping technique. I used a flower from Storybook Cricut cartridge. I cut it in white and then colored it with markers. It is one of my favorite cards that I have made.

Shoe Card

Hi everyone! I bought some new shoes today and I decided to share a picture with you guys.

In honor of this purchase, I decided to share a card I made about a year ago when I first got my Gypsy.

True, I ordered flats, not high heels, but this is the only shoe card that I have made. :) I was testing my Gypsy out and got the shoe from Gypsy Wanderings pre-loaded cartridge. I welded the sentiment using Printing 101. Come back soon! ~Emma

Glitter Ornament Gift

Hi everyone! I wanted to share an ornament that I made last year, but never posted. I used a clear ornament with 2 halves. I coated the inside with Modge Podge, then glitter, then another coat of Modge Podge. I put a small gift inside. The ribbon was from Hobby Lobby. I used Storybook to cut the initial of the receiver. I Modge Podged it on the front. That is why it looks slightly stained and shiny. :) Hope you liked it! ~Emma

Fabric Christmas Ornaments

Hello everyone! Today I have a Christmas present idea using the Cricut. I used regular fabric with Heat 'n' bond interfacing. I was having issues cutting it, so I used my Cricut color markers to draw the letters on the back and just cut them out with scissors. I then used an awl to punch holes and tie ribbon through them. Hi everyone! I wanted to share a card that I made today using absolutely NO CRICUT!! :-O I saw this idea from the Crafts to Favor fan page on Facebook. The belt is a little band to hold the card shut. To open it, you slide it off and open the card. For the sentiment I used a Pink By Design stamp and hand wrote 'Season's'. Hi everyone! I'm so sorry that I haven't posted in a while. I was planning to yesterday and I ran out of time. :) Any way here is my project for today. I got my first set of Mr. Cricut Crazy stamps. I got the stamp set Razzle. For my patterned paper I used Die Cuts with a View (DCWV) and The Paper Company (basically Hobby Lobby company). The striped paper is from DCWV Flower Power stack. The flower paper is from The All Seasons II paper stack. I used leftover ovals from this project to stamp the dogs on. I was mass producing those cards and made extra ovals. :D I am really liking these cards. I'll be back soon with another project. :) ~Emma

Hello everyone! We are celebrating a birthday at my house today, so I decided to share a birthday card that I made. I used Once Upon a Princess to cut the rose. I cut the three flowers in the corner with a punch. I used the Seeing Spots Cuttlebug folder to emboss the background. Pink by Design's Vintage Greetings stamp set was used to make the sentiment. Pattern Paper Tip

Sorry that I haven't been posting in a while. I did a couple of cards today. I am waiting on a package, so there will be more posts. I wanted to share a quick tip about pattern papers that are not a continual pattern. They are really easy to use. All you have to use is stick 1-4 photos on and add a die cut, stickers, etc. Also journaling. :) So if you are looking to make some quick layouts, turn to 'picture pattern papers' as I call them. :D I hope you have enjoyed this! ~Emma

Hi everyone! I'm afraid that I have been slacking (again!) you guys. :( I do have a some time this weekend, so I will probably make some projects. I wanted to share twin cards that I made. I always struggle with anniversary cards. I came up with the double hearts approach, and this stamp from Pink By Design's Vintage Greetings stamp set (which I LOVE). I cut the hearts from New Arrival at 2.5" (real dial size). I really am liking the color blocking look. These are great cards to make for weddings and engagements as well (change the sentiment though. :D). I hope you all liked this project! ~Emma

Oh My Goodness!!! I can't believe that I designed this myself on my Gypsy!! This is a character from the oh-so-popular smartphone game... ANGRY BIRDS!! I made this from scratch on my Gypsy and managed to do it with only 3 cartridges! I used George, Gypsy Wanderings, and Create-a-Critter. :) If I can figure out how to do it, I will post my file. Pumpkin Scrapbook Page

Hello everyone!! I'm really excited about getting back into routine! I've really missed it. I made this scrapbook page for a picture of Halloween Jack-o-Lanterns. I used my Gypsy to weld the swirl (Storybook) and pumpkin (Gypsy wanderings) together. I used a pumpkin paper that I got at my local Hobby Lobby. I just used a pen to draw the faces on them. I think it turned out really well. The title letters are from Learning Curve. I was going for a fun look (versus vintage looks and creepy looks) on this page. My tip for fun looks? Use bright greens, oranges, purples, and black. :) I am loving how this page turned out. :D Come back for more soon! ~Emma

Hello everyone! I wanted to share a card that I made for a challenge from My Pink Stamper. I made it with a 'country-like' theme. I had a scrap of holly paper and decided to build my theme around that. The brown is a little bit 'non - traditional' as well, but I kind of like it. :) I cut the holly from Christmas Cheer at 2.5 inches. I'm thinking that I will use this card as a gift tag. Hello everyone!! Hopefully you had a good week and are having a great Friday so far. I'm SOOOO looking forward to the weekend. Today I'm going to share a card that I made yesterday. I used Boys will be Boys for the trike and I cut it out at 2 inches. The green is cut at 2.5 inches. I stamped it repeatedly with TPC studio stamps and Pink By Design stamps. I Cuttlebuged the gray piece of cardstock (cut at 5.25x4 inches). The card is 5.5x4.25 inches. I like doing all of these simple cards with scraps and pre-cut pieces. Hi everyone! I just thought that I would share a card that I made this morning. It was an irregularly shaped card. I used a Cuttlebug folder that came with my V2 Cuttlebug. The purse was cut at 2" from Create-a-Critter. The sentiment from Pink by Design's Vintage Greeting Stamp Set. I prefer to keep a stash of cards around to use at any time. Hi everyone!! I thought that I would share a card that I was commissioned to make. The lady that wanted these cards has an adorable little pug and I decided to draw my inspiration from it. I used George and Basic Shapes for the oval. It was cut at 3 inches. The brown stripe is cut at 2x5.25 inches. The bone paper is from Hobby Lobby and is cut at 5.5x8.5 and folded in half to make a 4.25x5.5 card. The stamp is from Pink By Design's Vintage Greetings stamp set. Paper Rosette

Hi everyone!! I had to share my first attempt at a paper rosette that are really big right now. People are using them for banners, buttons, wreaths, and more. Here is the recipe:

Pink Cardstock from Die Cuts with a View (DCWV)
Flower from George cut at 1.5"
Circle cut from George at 2"
Hole punch to cover the flower center
Pop dot under flower
I used hot glue to attach the circles. My strips were 2" and scored every half inch. It turned out pretty well for the trouble it gave me. :) We are coming close to Think Pink Week. Blue and Brown Butterfly Page

Hi everyone! I'm back! I thought that I would share a scrapbook page that I made a while back. I love this page because it was SOOO easy to put together. So so simple. Here's the recipe:

Background Paper from Die Cuts with a View (Blossoms and Butterflies 12x12 stack)
Butterfly cut at 2" from Create-a-Critter
White Gel Pen

Since the stack that I got the background paper from was 12x12 and I scrapbook 8.5x11, I had to do some resizing. I cut 3.5 inches from the left side so that I wouldn't cut off the swirl and then I cut 1 inch of the foil dots from the bottom. But that didn't leave quite enough of the blue dot part. So I stuck it over the strip of butterflies. I think I like it better. -happy dance- :D LOL! I love it when things turn out better than expected. I didn't want to mat the photo, so I used a white gel pen and drew a line around the photo. I used cursive to add the caption to the photo mat. I think it turned out well. :) Also, keep your eye on Facebook tomorrow!! I will have a fun game. :) Hint: it has to do with Think Pink Week!! :) ~Emma

Gypsy Trick

So today, I thought I would share with you an awesome trick from the wonderful Tammy Skinner of tammyskinner.com. She did a video not too long ago on how to organize your Gypsy files. If you have a Gyspy, you know that you can store up to 10,000 files on it, plus thousands of cartridges. I don't think that I will ever get close to 1,000, let alone 10,000, but I do have quite a few files on my Gypsy. I found Tammy's tip EXTREMELY helpful and I sat down and reorganized my Gypsy using her method. Hi everyone!! I made this ADORABLE gift tag/mini card today and I just LOVED making it. I used my Gypsy (again) to plan it out and do my welding. That little device is such a time saver!! Here is the recipe:

Cow: Create-a-Critter
Phrase: Create-a-Critter
Though bubble: Create-a-Critter
Barn: Create-a-Critter
Milk bottle: Create-a-Critter
Marquee shape: Storybook

The marquee shape is welded for the card base and cut again for the layer. When I planned this out on my Gypsy I knew it would be small, but I didn't know that it would be this small. :) I included a quarter in one of my pictures for size comparison. :) On the facebook page, I am having a giveaway to celebrate 50 fans!! I thought I would share this sports themed card that I made a while back and added some zest to recently. The vellum was printed on the computer for the sentiment.

Recipe:
Card base 8.5x5.5 folded in half
Striped paper from The Paper Studio from the Back to the Basics stack cut at 4x5.25
I'm not sure about the orange strip's size, but it is probably 1.25x5.5
Vellum cut at 4x5.25 and printed
Football cut at 1.5 from Boys will be Boys cartridge
All other balls from George and Basic Shapes with hand drawn decorations.

'Just Chillin' Scrapbook Page

Yesterday I was in Joann's getting fabric for a sewing project and I go some penguin fleece. This fleece inspired me to create this layout. This is an 8.5x11 inch layout.

Recipe:
8.5x11 piece of pink cardstock
Torn white border inked blue for snow
Penguin cut at 3" from Create-a-Critter cartridge
Hairbow on penguin cut from jellyfish layer. Cut (without Real Dial Size on) at 1.5"
'Just Chillin' phrase cut at 2 inches from the Phrase button on the penguin
Plaid Paper (source unknown) cut at 5.25x4 inches for photo mat with swirlies drawn around it.
The penguin is popped up with a pop dot. :)

All cardstock from Hobby Lobby except for the orange cardstock. The orange cardstock came from a scrap pack I got a long time ago. The scrap pack's source is unknown.
I used a pop dot underneath my cupcake for extra dimension.
The Cuttlebug folder that I used on my pink strip came with my Cuttlebug V2 machine so I don't know the name of it or if it is available for purchase.
The orange hearts are the 'Smile' layer cut at the same size to tie the colors together.

If I owned any My Pink Stamper stamps I certainly would have used them. :)

Facebook Update!

Hi everyone! I have not been posting projects because I have been so busy getting the facebook page (www.facebook.com/KatelynCo.EKS) up to date and getting things in order. Valentine's Day Card and a Challenge!

And I am so sorry that I have not posted lately. I meant to photograph this card a few days ago, but I got caught on a different project. Alright, on to the project!

I know. It's mid-July. But I just received a new stamp set in the mail and I had to try it out. So I made this valentine. I love little hearts that have smiley faces. And valentines are so fun to create. Girl valentines are so much fun to create because they are very girly and cute. Boys valentines I enjoy making because they are a challenge. A mild challenge, but a challenge. So I have a challenge for you. Create something that is off-season and post it on the KatelynCo Facebook page. I'd love to see all of your creations!! ~Emma

Hi everyone! I thought I would share a project today that used the stamps that we made yesterday. The flowers that are stamped on the envelope were stamped with those stamps. Making your own stamps

Today I am going to show you how to make your own stamps using craft foam! These are really fun to make and stamp really well. All you need is craft foam, white glue, a craft knife, and a pattern (I used my electronic cutting machine). Let's make some stamps!

No Project Today (sorry!)

Hi guys! Sorry that I don't have a project for you today! I was going to have a layout, but my scanner isn't working. There will be no posts from now until Monday, July 4th. On July the 5th I will have a project for you. I am doing this so that I can work on my Picasa and Facebook albums a little more, rather than make projects to show you. Super Cute Cupcake Card

Hi guys!! So sorry that it has been over a week since I posted. I made this adorable card to send to my little cousin for her birthday. Actually I made this card a while back, but I refinished it. I wish that I had a picture of it before I refinished it. It looks so much better. The cupcake and all of the balloons are popped up even though you can't see it in the picture. First Steps Layout

I made this layout over the last couple of days and I think that it turned out really well. The little butterfly in the lower right hand corner was cut using a Cricut cartridge that I got for my birthday. I doodled a little bit by the flower paper pieces. I hope you liked this project.

What's the Buzz?

This is the last card of the batch that I made using my new cartridges. I really like this card because it has such bright colors and I really like bumblebees. :) It was really simple to put together. I did make a few mistakes on the bumblebee, but I think it looks very nice. Remember that KatelynCo now has a Facebook page. If you like us you won't have to keep checking the blog. This is my favorite card that I made this past week. I love this little sea horse and he was so easy to put together. I think that I am one for scenic cards. But I do love the other ones. I also really like the colors in this card (purple is my favorite). The sentiment says 'I'd love to SEA you'. I love puns. They just add a fun touch to everything. Cupcake Card

Today I thought that I would show you a card that I made with another cartridge that I got for my birthday. This is a very simple card that I just threw together in a hurry. :) You can't tell in the picture, but the cupcake is actually popped up with foam squares. 'Caught a Bug?' Card

I thought that I would do a post. It has been forever since I did one hasn't it. I love this card that I made using a Cricut cartridge that I got for my birthday. I love the sentiment that I hand wrote onto the card. There is a jar around the bug, but it is cut out of vellum so it is not easy to see in the picture. I hope you have enjoyed this post!!

Drawing Inspiration From the World Around You

I wanted to share a new technique with you today. It is drawing inspiration from things around you like fabric, your sofa, or even your refrigerator. For this card, I drew inspiration from a fabric (pictured on the right) that I had on hand. It is such a retro fabric that I just had to use it. I wish that the ribbon had squares instead of circles, but it was the perfect color scheme match, and it does look nice to have a break from all of the squares. This is project number 12 and challenge number 11 (make something with pink, green, and black) Okay, first off, I have to confess that I looove making tags. They are so simple and small. And so easy. I confess that I added blue onto this challenge. :0) There was no rule saying that you couldn't add anything. I have made a few tags, but I don't make loads of them. Just a Note Doggie Card

This challenge was number 10 and I was supposed to use a pet in my project. This was also project number 11. I loooove this card. This is my favorite of all my NSD projects. I love the flower paper that I used. and this dog is one of my favorite cuts. I made the little envelope myself and I will send this card to a very special friend (you know who you are). LOL!! Glitz, Glam, and Glitter Heart Paper Clip Card

This was challenge number 9 and project number 10. This card has a lot of sparkle and shine to it. I love hearts too, so I used some background paper I made myself. This is challenge number 8 (create something with a summer theme) and project number 9. This card I made using a Cricut die cut that I haven't used very much, if at all. Even though you can't see it very well, the sentiment says 'Smile'. I love summer, even though I don't love watermelon. I love the swimming and the warmth (if it is not hot). Challenge 7 - Soda Guzzler

This was challenge number 7 (make a scrapbook page) and project 8. This scrapbook layout is a funny one. I love this picture of my sister when she was young, guzzling down soda. I created the Coca - Cola element myself. I just love how all the pastel colors were pulled from her scarf and the rest were in the picture as well. Mother's Day Card with Dimension

Here is project number 6 and challenge number 5. I had to make something with some dimension. The flower is popped up extra high, but in the photo you can't tell. Since I didn't have any pop-dots on hand, I cut a piece of foam out and glued it on. How did you like 3 or 4 posts in the span of less than 10 minutes? :0) I'm getting tired and I have a long way to go still. Oh, well! Enjoy it while it lasts!!! ~Emma

Manly Card

Here is project number 3 and challenge number 2. The challenge was to make something for a man/boy with kraft cardstock. I made a manly card with kraft cardstock. When I think of kraft cardstock, I think of cardboard color. And that is what this is. The sentiment says 'Get yur gun! The Hunting Dogs are waitin'!' If you are wondering why this has taken me so long, it is because I did not have access to my computer until now. So today is a very special day in the crafting year. Today is (drum roll please!).....National Scrapbook Day!!! National Scrapbook Day is held on the first Saturday of every May.
